John has spent the last 25 years working at Fortune 500 Companies such as Microsoft, ATT, Cingular and Amazon.com. His primary function was building and refining large, multi - layered, non-employee talent acquisition and retention programs. During the course of his career, he has been responsible for the management of billions of dollars in corporate non-employee talent spend. John has sourced, managed and completed scorecard reviews for hundreds of various non-employee talent acquisition suppliers. John is passionate about finding diversity owned suppliers that truly reach out to diverse candidates from underserved communities to support their client needs.

John is a Passionate advocate for equity, inclusion, diversity and social justice. Authenticity and Transparency are evident in everything he does and his Curiosity is boundless. 

Following these beliefs, John has been able to thrive in the corporate world and now as a business consultant. He’s an advisor to Human Resource Talent Acquisition Directors, VPs and CHROs and Procurement and Supply Chain Managers, Directors and CPOs. John’s aggressive but empathetic style has ensured supplier performance optimization for the entire talent acquisition and retention life cycle.

John is very well networked in the non-employee talent acquisition and retention ecosystem. His knowledge of both the buyer and seller network enables him to quickly create new relationships in a very mutually beneficial way.

In today’s Gig economy with historically low talent pools, buyers and hiring managers must make a concerted effort to create talent magnetism. John has created a talent magnetism ecosystem with tools that are specific for the non-employee talent pool. Those tools include creating and updating comprehensive rate cards, job descriptions that meet your HM needs, interview feedback processes that are quick and create a top notch candidate experience.

This ecosystem also includes strategies for finding suppliers who are experts at retaining talent with their care and engagement efforts.

John is very savvy and providing a proper assessment of his client’s needs quickly and then creating a strategic action plan with deliverables, dates to be delivered and exceeding results.

 


Personal

John lives in Bellevue, WA after growing up in Spokane WA. He is the product of a Catholic Jesuit education attending St Aloysius grade school, Gonzaga Prep High School and Gonzaga University. His move to the west side of Washington state in 1986 was full of new beginnings personally and professionally. He has never looked back.

John met Bart de Boer in 2008. John proposed to Bart at La Grenouille in late 2014. They got married in 2015 and enjoyed an Italian Amalfi Coast honeymoon. Their favorite hobbies include traveling, cooking, baking, gardening, entertaining and attending musical theatre productions.
